Around the Industry
GoDaddy announced that it would acquire Poynt for $320 million in cash at closing and $45 million in deferred cash payments. Poynt, an omnicommerce payment platform provider, is currently used by more than 100,000 merchants with over $16 billion in annual Gross Merchandise Volume. GoDaddy plans to integrate Poynt with its Websites+Marketing solution and WordPress commerce services to provide small business’ customers a seamless experience between online and offline shopping.
In other commerce news, IBM will acquire fintech company, Expertus Technlogies Inc, to strengthen its portfolio as an end-to-end digital payments solution provider. More than 1,000 entities such as banks, regulatory agencies, and corporates worldwide process an average of over $50 billion daily on Expertus’ payments platform. This acquisition will increase IBM’s finance industry depth and ability to manage complex integrations of technologies, people, and processes.
PTC announced that it would acquire Arena Solutions, Inc, the industry’s leading SaaS product lifecycle management (PLM) platform provider, for $715 million. Arena Solutions serves more than 1,200 customers, including Nutanix, Peloton, Sonos, and Square. This acquisition will unify PLM, quality management, and requirements management to strengthen PTC as the leader in SaaS-based product development software by offering a complete CAD+PLM SaaS solution.

Partner Program Announcements
Opengear announced its first technical certification program for its Network Resilience platform that’s used by more than 75% of Fortune 100 companies. As businesses continue to adopt cloud, IoT, and edge computing, managing networks is becoming increasingly complicated. This new program will allow network professionals the ability to reduce sales cycles by giving them access to resources to demo and provide customer service remotely from anywhere effectively.
Netlify launched a new technology partner program that emphasizes highlighting partner solutions that enable customers to unlock new use cases using Jamstack web architecture. Technology Partners will benefit from increased visibility to Netlify’s current 1,300,000 developers and business customers and enhanced go-to-market collaboration.
Juniper Networks will launch a revamped global Juniper Partner Advantage Program on January 1, 2021. According to Gordon Mackintosh, Juniper’s channel chief, Juniper Networks will invest over $100 million into the program to increase virtual sales resources, better performance tools, incentives, and rewards for partners.
DigitalRoute announced a new Systems Integrator Partner Program designed for SIs who offer consulting and implementation services for DigitalRoute’s Usage Data Platform."Our new program is a great opportunity for SIs to build consulting services for usage-based revenue and monetization," said Andreas Zartmann, CEO, DigitalRoute.
Anchore, the leading experts in continuous security and compliance for containers, announced the launch of a new partner program. The new program will bring Anchore and partners to help companies and agencies build DevSecOps toolchains and processes. The new partner program will offer three categories: Solution Provider, Channel Partner, and Technology Partner. The program will launch worldwide with existing partners such as GitHub, Atlassian, Red Hat, Microsoft, GitLab, and many more.
Product Updates
Zendesk becomes the first customer experience platform member of the Unity Verified Solutions Partner Program. Zendesk will be the first native customer support SDK verified to ensure compatibility and stability with the Unity platform. This partnership enables players to get immediate help without having to leave the game or interrupt their experience.
Twitter selected AWS to provide global cloud infrastructure for its timelines. This expansion onto AWS marks the first time Twitter is leveraging the public cloud to scale their real-time service. The new agreement builds on the companies’ more than decade-long collaboration. AWS continues to provide Twitter with storage, compute, database, and content delivery services to support its distribution of images, videos, and ad content.
Eagle Eye Solutions, a SaaS-based provider for one-to-one marketing, is partnering with revenue management platform provider, Chargebee. This new partnership will help retail and hospitality operators drive customer engagement and recurring revenue through subscription services. Chargebee’s leading subscription billing software powers end-to-end recurring billing subscription management and auto-invoicing for over 2,000 SaaS companies.
