Around the Industry
Sinch, a global leader in cloud communications for mobile customer engagement, announced that it would acquire Inteliquent, the largest independent voice communications provider in the U.S, covering 94% of its population, for $1.14 billion. Sinch, a competitor to Twilio, offers a range of messaging, calling, and marketing APIs for companies building communications into mobile apps and other services. This acquisition will give Sinch a significant presence in the U.S market.
Amazon has quietly acquired Selz, a startup that provides technology to help small businesses operate e-commerce sites and process payments. This acquisition could give Amazon a competitive edge against companies like Shopify and BigCommerce. It continues to provide tools for small- to medium-sized businesses to move their operations online. Amazon’s last marketplace attempt, Amazon Webstore, shut down in 2015.
iHeartMedia announced that it has agreed to acquire Triton Digital, a global Advertising Technology SaaS platform for audio streaming and podcasting, for $230 million. The acquisition is the latest of iHeartMedia’s investments in the audio technology space and further enhances its position as the leader in audio.
Sensata Technologies announced it acquired leading telematics and data insight provider Xirgo Technologies for $400 million. Sensata develops modular solutions that collect data from wireless sensors using a connected vehicle area network. The acquisition of Xirgo brings complementary capabilities and accelerates Sensata’s strategy to expand into broader fleet ecosystems such as telematics service providers and fleet management solution providers.
Partner Program Announcements
Last week, Microsoft announced several updates to their partner program to give partners more access to co-innovate and develop next-generation Microsoft-based solutions. Microsoft will be investing in tools and resources to help partners differentiate in the marketplace, gain market share, support their success, and meet customer needs.
Teampay, a leading distributed spend management platform, recently announced the launch of its Partner Program. The Teampay Partner Program will offer three types of partnerships: Issuer Partners, Technology Partners, and Consulting Partners. Partners will benefit from exposure to Teampay’s customers, discounts, and co-marketing activities.
Secureworks, a global leader in cybersecurity, announced a new addition within its Secureworks Global Partner Program. The MSSP track will provide Managed Service Providers (MSPs) with want to become Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and existing MSSPs access to its cloud-native security platform, financial incentives such as deal registration discounts, go-to-market support, and training and enablement resources.
Partnership Announcements
Honeywell has announced a strategic alliance with IDEMIA, the global leader in augmented identity. The alliance will integrate Honeywell’s security and building management systems with IDEMIA’s biometric-based access control systems to create frictionless, safer, and more efficient buildings. The next-generation systems will allow occupants to easily and securely have contactless engagement with a building from vehicle recognition during parking, room access, automatic elevator calls, and personalized conference room settings.
TechSmith and Panopto announced a strategic alliance to give students, educators, and employees a powerful solution for creating, securing, and distributing video-based workflows in universities and enterprises. Both companies will work together to offer customers a seamless experience and introduce additional functionality between the tools.
