Okta signed a definitive agreement to acquire Auth0, a cloud identity rival, for $6.5 billion. Okta’s cloud software currently allows office workers to access all their apps through a secure online service. With the acquisition of Auth0, Okta gets a cloud solution that helps developers embed identity management into applications giving them the ability to offer customers a new offering in the identity management space that is simpler, more reliable, scalable, and more secured.
Roku announced it would acquire Nielsen’s video advertisement unit. At the center of the acquisition is Nielsen’s DAI technology that gives advertisers better targeting and measurement capabilities to target a specific audience instead of the traditional model that uses broad demographics such as age and gender. The acquisition gives Roku the ability to leverage their technology and 51.2 million subscribers to negotiate with advertisers looking for the best ways to target viewers.
TeamViewer announced that it would acquire augmented reality software company, Upskill. Upskill specializes in augmented reality applications for front-line workers using smart glasses and handheld devices. The acquisition gives TeamViewer the ability to support use cases and industries in the enterprise AR market as it looks for ways to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across all verticals.
Partner Program Announcements
Software AG, a leader in IoT integration and business transformation software, has announced the launch of PartnerConnect, its new global partner program. With PartnerConnect, partners are rewarded for building skills, earning product certifications, and co-selling. The new portal will offer self-serve tools so partners can deliver the products, solutions, and services their customers need.
Netrality Data Centers announced that it had expanded its Netrality Partner Program to meet the growing enterprise demand for greater data center footprints and opportunities for hybrid multi-cloud solutions. The program provides sales support resources for go-to-market initiatives, joint commercial offerings, and new selling motions such as white-labeling, resale, and referrals.
Palo Alto Networks, the global cybersecurity leader, announced that it had enhanced its NextWave Partner Network. NextWave 3.0 will help partners differentiate their services with new specializations, build new security expertise, enhance partner profitability with new incentives, and empower partner success with additional ways to earn or maintain partner status and certification levels.
Devo Technology recently unveiled its new global partner program, Devo Drive, for resellers, MSSPs, and global SIs. The new program will consist of three tiers and offer competitive partner discounts, margins, and protected deal registration. Partner program resources include enablement, sales training, technical training, joint marketing, and pre-sales support from Devo solution architects.
Partnership Announcements
Platform9 and Mavenir have announced a partnership to accelerate the rollout of 5G services. Platform9 is known for its Managed Kubernetes platform for private and edge clouds. Mavenir is a leader in accelerating software network transformation for communication service providers with its cloud-native software products and services. Mavenir intends to leverage Platform9’s Kubernetes solution to build scalable 5G networks at the edge by running vendor-neutral hardware and providing open-source orchestration.
Google Cloud, Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS), and Munich RE are partnering to launch the Risk Protection Program. The program aims to cut cloud security risks and offer cyber insurance designed for Google Cloud customers. Cyber insurance, also known as cyber-liability insurance, is an insurance policy that helps protect companies from the fallout from cyberattacks and hacking threats.
