Around the Industry
IBM announced that it would acquire Turbonomic, an application resource and network performance management software provider. Turbonomic’s tools automate management, analyze performance, and suggest changes for customers to meet usage demands as they manage workloads that are extended hybrid cloud environments. IBM plans to integrate Turbonomic’s products with another hybrid cloud management solution from a recent acquisition, Instana, to bring its customers the most comprehensive application management automation solution.
Global Payments, a leading provider in payment technology and software solutions, announced that it would acquire Zego, a leading provider of real estate software and payments solutions. Through its payments offering, Zego facilitates about $30 billion in payments annually. The acquisition extends Global Payments’ lead in software for the real estate vertical, where digital commerce and omnichannel trends are rapidly accelerating.
Twitter announced that it had acquired Scroll, an ad-blocking startup. Scroll currently offers a subscription service that removes ads from participating news sites. In addition to the earlier acquisition of the newsletter platform, Revue, this acquisition continues the path that Twitter is on to create a comprehensive subscription service for journalists and publishers.
Demandbase, a leading B2B account-based experience solution provider, announced it would acquire InsideView, a sales and marketing intelligence platform, and DemandMatrix, a provider of technographic data and intelligence. With the acquisitions, Demandbase plans to integrate both platforms to significantly expand the Demandbase One Go-To-Market Suite to give B2B customers a complete end-to-end solution for accessing the data required for B2B go-to-market strategies.
Partner Program Announcements
Mitel, a leading cloud communications provider, announced enhancements to its global partner program based on partner engagement and feedback. The new enhancements to the partner program will reward partners who demonstrate a commitment to owning the customers’ full communications lifecycle. As part of the 2021 program, partners who go above and beyond minimum certification criteria for sales and technical competencies will receive new enhanced program points. Partners who manage the overall customer lifecycle will also have access to obtain a new Customer Lifecycle Engagement Certification.
Vonage announced new programs and resources to meet the demands of their partner community. A Partner Experience Portal will offer more personalized support, deeper self-service capabilities, detailed analytics, and better insights into contracts and renewal details. New updates to its channel partner program include a tiered structure with individual sets of benefits, faster onboarding processes, and a new training platform, Vonage Verified, to help partners establish a foundation for sales success.
Pegasystems announced the launch of its new partner program during the recent PegaWorld iNspire event. The new Pega Partners program will include a tiered structure with individual sets of benefits, resources, and rewards to enable solution partners, resellers, and ISVs to serve their customers better. Customers of Pegasystems will also access about 200 pre-qualified partner solutions through the new Pega Marketplace.
Partnership Announcements
Verizon Media and VIZIO announced a strategic partnership to deliver new cross-platform and connected TV advertising solutions. As a result of the partnership, Verizon Media will gain demand-side platform (DSP) access to VIZIO’s viewership data from more than 18 million opted-in smart TVs. Starting in 2022, Verizon Media will have exclusive rights to this data. For VIZIO, it will have access to Verizon Media’s identity graph information to offer targeted campaigns to marketers.
NielsenIQ, a leader in data analytics and consumer intelligence, and Loop Insights, a provider of contactless solutions, announced a strategic alliance to transform the retail industry with automated marketing and enhanced customer engagement. The collaboration will leverage NielsenIQ’s data aggregation and measurement expertise with Loop’s real-time data analytics capabilities to give retailers new opportunities to offer personalized shopping experiences to increase loyalty.
Ingram Micro announced an expanded global relationship with UiPath, a leading enterprise automation software company and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) innovator. Organizations look to RPA to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulations by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Ingram Micro began offering AI and RPA solutions a few years ago. It has become one of its fastest-growing global practices. With the new relationship, the entire UiPath portfolio is now available to Ingram Micro channel partners worldwide.
