Around the Industry
ServiceNow announced that it would acquire applications performance monitoring startup, Lightspeed. Lightspeed’s technology enables companies to analyze system-wide metrics data in real-time to understand the cause and effect of application performance, reliability, and development velocity. With the acquisition, ServiceNow will offer customers the ability to innovate quickly and monitor and detect problems before impacting many users.
Bill.com, a back-office software provider, has agreed to acquire Divvy, a cloud-based software provider that automates back-office financial operations for SMBs, for around $2.5 billion. With the acquisition, Bill.com now has the ability to offer expense management and budgeting software combined with automated payable, receivables, and workflow capabilities to more than 115,000 customers and its network of 2.5 million members.
Jamf, a leader in Apple Enterprise Management, announced it would acquire Wandera, a leader in zero-trust cloud security and access for mobile devices, for $400 million. By acquiring Wandera, Jamf can address a missing modern security layer to its platform. The acquisition will allow Jamf to provide enterprise customers a single-source platform that handles lifecycle management, policies, filtering, and security capabilities while delivering zero-trust network access for all mobile workers.
Partner Program Announcements
IBM announced new benefits to its partners as it sees its ecosystem gain momentum. Partners will access a new competency framework for those that demonstrate expertise, technical validation, and sales success in specialized areas. In addition, IBM has expanded its Cloud Engagement Fund for technical resources and cloud credits for partners to help migrate customers to hybrid cloud environments.
NetApp announced that it had updated its Unified Partner Program to give partners a more flexible, consistent, and simplified experience. The updates announced include expanding its partner ecosystem to include new partner types, simplified incentives, new partner rewards, new solution specializations for partners to obtain, new services certification, and an enhanced partner locator for customers.
Nerdio announced its new Nerdio Partner Program to help MSPs build successful cloud practices in Microsoft Azure and Windows Virtual Desktop. The new partner program will have four tiers with VIP perks based on tier status, access to benefits and resources such as case studies and white-labeled content, and a new certification program.
Accedian announced enhancements to its Skylight 4X Partner Program focused on service adoption and consultative engagements for MSPs and MSSPs to drive new stronger brand awareness and greater revenue opportunities. The program’s enhancements will enable partners to develop new lines of business with value-based offerings that increase subscription revenues and deepen customer relationships. The new consultative approach offers partners better resources to identify new service identification, strategy, creation, enablement, and execution.
Partnership Announcements
Verizon and RingCentral announced a strategic partnership to bring cloud-based enterprise communication solutions to enterprise customers. The two companies will develop a co-branded service, RingCentral with Verizon, to offer seamlessly integrated unified communications as a service for businesses that includes team messaging, video meetings, and a cloud phone system.
CrowdStrike and Google Cloud announced an extension of their strategic partnership. Under the expanded partnership, the new integrations between CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform and Google Cloud will include the ability to address threats quickly using Google Cloud’s analytics engine, quicker search and identification of files or URLs relevant to threats using VirusTotal, an aggregated view of alerts and events using Google Cloud’s SCC, and the ability for joint customers to create and enforce granular access policies to applications.
