Snap announced it would acquire WaveOptics, an augmented reality display company, for over $500 million. WaveOptics’ display technology allows for the overlaying of virtual objects onto the real world through a transparent surface such as glass. Snap is using displays from WaveOptics in its recently announced augmented reality glasses, Spectacles.
Unbounce, a leading landing page automation platform provider, recently announced it would acquire automated copywriting startup Snazzy.ai. Snazzy.ai’s copywriting technology is based on GPT-3 artificial intelligence and allows customers to easily generate content for use in 90 use cases such as landing pages, Google ad copy, blogs, and emails. With the acquisition, Unbounce plans to expand its offerings to give customers the ability to deliver more targeted, relevant experiences using artificial intelligence.
Foursquare announced it would acquire Unfolded, a geospatial analytics platform provider. Unfolded’s technology offers open source geospatial libraries and advanced tooling to help customers transform geospatial data into insightful maps in minutes. The acquisition will give Foursquare the ability to integrate Unfold’s geospatial technology with its comprehensive location data to give customers the ability to access spatial features and various data sets to solve critical business challenges.
Splunk announced it would acquire TruSTAR, a security software company. TruSTAR’s technology enables SOC analysts to gather and share cybersecurity intelligence generated by automated data collection processes. Splunk plans to add TruSTAR’s cloud-native, cyber-intelligence sharing capabilities, and automated processes to its growing cybersecurity portfolio.
Partner Program Announcements
M-Files, an intelligent information management solution provider, announced the launch of its new partner program after experiencing tremendous global channel sales growth in 2020. The new partner program will offer channel partners access to sales incentives, new training programs, and new certifications. Currently, M-Files has nearly 400 partners in 91 countries.
Broadcom announced an expanded global channel services partner program to accelerate growth across its software solutions. The Expert Advantage Partner Program expands Broadcom’s service partner ecosystem to include a network of trusted, highly specialized, and localized experts to help customers accelerate its digital business transformation strategies. In addition, a new Expert Advantage Partner Finder will be available to customers to help locate and select the best-suited partner for their unique requirements.
Zix, a leading cloud email security, productivity, and compliance solutions provider, announced it had expanded its global partner program to include Germany and the UK. Partners in Germany and the UK will have access to a localized support portal with knowledge-based articles, training webinars, and live support staff to help take advantage of its expanded suite of products to create new revenue streams.
Partnership Announcements
BigID, a leading data intelligence management platform, and Databricks, a leading unified data analytics platform, announced a partnership to bring transformative data discovery and context for analytics and artificial intelligence. Using BigID’s technology, customers can find and identify their sensitive and critical data in Data Lake on Databricks and take action on it for security, privacy, and governance. As a result, customers will get more value from their data and accelerate innovation by unifying data teams with an open, scalable platform for all their data-driven use cases.
Five9, a leading provider of intelligent cloud contact center solutions, and Mitel, a global leader in business communications, announced a multi-year strategic partnership to bring cloud contact center as a service (CCaaS) to Mitel’s global client base. With the partnership, Mitel will feature Five9’s CCaaS platform as its exclusive cloud contact center offering to its global customer base and channel partner ecosystem. Integrating Five9’s CCaaS solution with Mitel’s cloud and on-premise communications solutions will help accelerate its partner footprint within and outside the US, with a particular focus on EMEA.
