Around the Industry
Uber Freight, the rideshare company’s trucking division, announced that it would acquire Transplace, a leading logistics and brokerage technology platform, for $2.25 billion. The acquisition will allow Uber Freight to optimize freight across the entire marketplace and deliver best-in-class services to shippers and new opportunities for carriers.
Zoom announced it would acquire Five9, a leading provider of the intelligent cloud contact center, for $14.7 billion. Five9’s cloud-based contact center software delivers a comprehensive suite of easy-to-use applications that allows for management and optimization of customer interactions across multiple channels. With the acquisition, Zoom plans to integrate Five9’s solution with its platform, including its Zoom Phone offering, to create a robust communications platform to help businesses interact and connect in new and convenient ways.
Partner Program Announcements
Amazon Web Services announced a new program to enable partners to train and equip customers with cloud expertise. The AWS Training Partner program will allow selected partners who meet and continually maintain certain expertise criteria to deliver and resell official AWS-authored training. In addition, the new program gives organizations the ability to leverage a local partner’s expertise in a geographic area to help meet its needs for instructor-led or digital training.
Billtrust, a leader in B2B accounts receivable automation and payments, announced the launch of its global partner program. The new partner program will give channel partners tools to increase revenue, uncover market opportunities, and deepen customer relationships. Partners in the program will receive access to a partner portal for deal registration, access to co-branded material, tailored onboarding and training, and assistance from a dedicated account team.
Aerospike, a leader in real-time data access, announced a significant expansion of its Accelerate Partner Program. The enhancements to the program will give partners access to technical, marketing, and sales resources specifically designed to increase partner revenue. Expanded offerings include a solutions lab, migration factory, online and on-site training, and access to the Ignite Go-To-Market Workshop.
Partnership Announcements
Volta Charging, a leader in commercial electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, and StreetLight, a leader in big data analytics for mobility, announced a strategic partnership to help accelerate EV adoption. Both companies plan to build a charging network designed to deliver an optimal driver experience, be capital efficient, and deliver the most electric miles per dollar invested.
Wipro, a leading global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, and Celonis, a global leader in executive management, announced a new partnership to help drive operations transformations for clients. As part of the partnership, Wipro will launch the Global Celonis Center to allow customers to work with digital twins of business processes to monitor, standardize, and control them.
