Around the Industry
Paypal announced it would acquire Paidy, a leading Japanese buy now, pay later provider, for $2.7 billion to expand its capabilities, distribution, and relevance in the domestic payments market in Japan. Paidy’s payment services allow Japanese shoppers to make online purchases and then pay for them each month in a consolidated bill. Its ability to rapidly develop and successfully launch innovative products has driven strong engagement with its more than six million registered users. Paidy’s technology is already integrated with PayPal and other digital and QR wallets.
Global Payments, a global leader of payment technology and software solutions, announced it would acquire MineralTree, a leading provider of accounts payable automation and B2B payments solutions. MineralTree’s SaaS offerings automate key procurement processes, invoice capture, coding and approval, and enable virtual cards and integrated payment options to digitalize payables. In addition, Global Payments intends to scale its combined B2B initiatives quicker with the acquisition by leveraging an extensive distribution channel to expand its target addressable markets.
Partner Program Announcements
ThinkIQ, a leader in digital manufacturing transformation SaaS, announced the launch of its Alliance Partner Program. The new program offers technology and manufacturing partners customized resources and commitments based on their tier level. The three-tiered approach gives partners the ability to reach higher levels based on their performance and goals. The ThinkIQ Alliance Partner Program benefits include marketing and sales resources, lead generation, extensive training, and comprehensive support.
Nebulon, a provider of server-embedded infrastructure software delivered as-a-service, announced the new Nebulon smartPartner Program. The new partner program will enable resell partners the ability to access Nebulon’s differentiated application infrastructure to help win new business and drive more revenue versus hyper-converged infrastructure solutions. In addition, partners in the program will also have access to two new incentive programs, Nebulon smartStart and Nebulon smartRewards, designed to help them accelerate their business and enhance margins.
StrongBox Data Solutions, a leading provider of autonomous large-scale data management and archive solutions, announced an expansion of its global channel program for MSPs, VARs, solution integrators, and strategic alliance partners. The SBDS Ambassador Partner program enhancements include new tools to support sales and marketing, a new online portal, streamlined deal registration, and a disruptive pricing model that provides partners with competitive margins and recurring revenue opportunities.
Partnership Announcements
OYO and Microsoft announced a multi-year strategic alliance to digitally transform the travel industry by co-developing next-generation travel and hospitality products and technologies. OYO has emerged as one of the largest hotel chains in the world, with a presence in India, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the U.S. The new solutions will give small to medium-sized hotels and home storefronts access to OYO’s latest technology to manage guests’ experience, increase revenue, and run operations seamlessly using Microsoft Azure IoT.
BIO-key, an innovative provider of identity and access management solutions, announced the start of a Master Agent Referral Partner Program with Intelisys, a ScanSource company and a leading provider of technology services and solutions. The relationship will help enhance BIO-key’s security practice and expand its Channel Alliance Partner program. As a result, BIO-key will now be able to offer the first identity and access management platform as part of the solutions Intelisys providers to their network of partners.
